I was online today looking at other people’s photos trying to get an idea of how to do makeup that is timeless but futuristic for my next photo shoot. Spring is around the corner so I want to incorporate some fun color. However, I don’t want to get too far away from the classic beauty I try to create. I usually go for the more natural look so I realize if I am going to go edgy I have to go for it. So, I think I will take a page out of the book of the makeup artist that created this look.
<>< >JEAN PAUL GAULTIER SPRING 2012 COUTURE
Absolutely NOTHING beats couture! Jean Paul Gaultier proves this in his salute to the iconic late Amy Winehouse in his latest collection. Models graced the catwalk in Amy’s signature almost cartoon-like style with cigarettes, big hair, thick eyeliner, and beauty spots galore. Referencing her unique mix of floaty silhouettes, tight bustiers and sportswear, the effect was one of tomboyish femininity. LOVE! Peep some footage from the show (above)
<>< >JUST CAVALLI BY TERRY RICHARDSON
Cavalli has just been absolutely slaying it this week! The luxury Italian brand has enlisted the help of Terry Richardson to shoot it’s Just Cavalli Spring 2012 ads. Filled with fun and vibrant colors and prints and hints of 70s charm (looks like that’s still lingering in the air)! Very hip bohemian chic. Love it!
